"Many of the most satisfying achievements in music are the result of collaborations. One has only to think of all the famous composer/lyricist or artist/producer relationships. When I was introduced to Linley as a potential accompanist/Musical Director [thanks uncle Kenneth!] I quickly found out that Linley is far more than a singer with a voice full of character and experience. She also has a true musician's ear and vision. When I heard the range and expressiveness of her voice I was immediately inspired to set about creating new re-harmonised arrangements of her repertoire of standards. From the beginning as we played them through it became more than vocalist plus arranger.....everything we sang and played took on new life.....little variations, little melodic moments or rhythmic motifs heard or felt and then incorporated........ideas bouncing back and forth til we had the sense of something exciting or special ....sometimes something deeper and darker......I love these arrangements we have created....makes me feel like Nelson Riddle or Quincy Jones with a 4 piece orchestra!!"
